I was just about to post because of him. Maybe I don't watch as much baseball as I used to but this guy has killed us every time. He doesn't look like much but the times I have seen him he is just unstoppable at the plate and solid in the field. On a side note Kwan looks like a student of Ichiro... but I still have blind faith in the Tigers!!!

I'm still upset at how McKinstry let that ball eat him up. Then to make matters worse the guy on the broadcast says he is an excellent defender. Well in 180 inning's at 3B this year this year his fielding percentage is .897 with all the defensive run saved metrics in the negative. So tell me in one sentence how you have never watched or paid any attention to the Tigers all year.
That being said I know the team doesn't actually have a 3B on the roster and that it is a glaring need going into the offseason. So I'm not going to bash Hinch for playing him there as he is trying to work his matchups in a specific sort of way. Just don't try to tell me he is an "excellent" (when he isn't even good) defender at 3B. Also, isn't it baseball law for the ball to find your worst defender in the most important moments of a game??? |

I agree that it is terrible listening to these broadcast crews after having Benetti and Peaches / Gibby / Carlos all year.
Bring on Monday and even this up!

Clase gave up 5 earned runs all season. Carp got him for 3 today. What a game.

Doesn’t Jake Rogers look like a throwback to the 19th century? Big mustache, rosy cheeks, big smile and hardly any muscles to notice… Awesome!!!

All down to Skubal on Saturday!
I hope the Carp leg injury is nominal.

Tough loss today. Still, I was glad to be down there and whiteness first hand an electric atmosphere. I had not been to a playoff game since they but Leyland on their shoulders when they bounced the Yanks in ‘06.

Tough loss but still hopeful for Saturday:
- Bullpen has a day to rest. No one was blown up last night, just didn't pitch above their heads as they have been - Greene is out of the doldrums - Skubal ! - Carpenter may have a hamstring issue unfortunately. If he can walk, he'll probably DH or at least PH - Gibby classic moment coming? Most worrisome is the trouble they continue to have with RISP and the disappearance of Colt Keith's bat.

I'm cheering for the kids, but even if they go down in flames...they've given us a far better season than expected. There's a ton of young talent there. AJ really had 'em firing on all cylinders during the second half. Win or lose, they have my support...they've earned it.

Game time moved up to 1:08 due to the weather in Cleveland.
I am with you, win or lose, I have loved every minute of the past two months. Go Skubal !!

As a Cleveland fan this has been a great series and tomorrow is going to come down to the bullpens like in game 2. If Boyd (assuming he is the starter) can match scoreless innings with Skubal it should be interesting once they go to the bullpens.
No matter who wins, they better beat the Yankees and spoil the MLB dream of either the Dodgers/Yankees or Mets/Yankees World Series. Go Guardians! |

Certainly the Ingdians have to take out the Evil Empire. But I have zero desire for a Tigers v Mets, #6 v #6, a "World Series" where neither team even finished in the top half of its division.
The 12-team playoffs are already a sad, sad joke. Let's not reach the ne plus ultra of incompetence, so soon. |
