has anyone else noticed it's very hard to win the second round series if you played (and obvi crushed) an unmanned team in the first round?

No, because I almost never check Perfect Draft results. Your team should be fully rested for the next round, so I only see beneficial effects of this, especially the guaranteed two pity packs.

Had that happen to me last night in a nearly perfect draft. My rotation pitched two perfect games and two no-hitters, with a team BA of .644 and over 225 runs scored, then lost to a good team in 6 in the 2nd round. But my team wasn't all that good, multiple diamonds in the daily lineup and my three best players were Joe Jackson, Tulo, and Rooker.

And in the NP draft I did this morning I got nothing, I'm hoping to get another draft whiffer in the first round tonight.

I had the same thing happen to me in PTCS Silver this weekend. Couldn't figure out how my team outscored the opposition by 200 runs but got eliminated. So I checked my sweep in the first round and found the opponent roster contained five Irons, one Bronze, and 20 Jim Unknowns. Outscored them 220-0 in the five games, so it was even more brutal than usual. The last game was 59-0, with my Combinator Don Demeter driving in eight runs and scoring nine. At least the box score was a lot of fun.
