If it’s anything like last year they will once again not take advantage of excitement around opening day and wait until November to release it

That was only due to circumstance beyond their control. I'm guessing the game releases about a week after the beginning of the season.

Last night's Twitch "live stream" they said something will go out on social media/forums "very soon". Then a trailer in "a week or two" and then a WED stream to talk more in depth about it.

Hmmm, that doesn't sound promising at all considering the regular season starts this weekend.

Jeff said they are waiting on Steam which should happen today or tomorrow. At which time the game should go up to be wish listed. Next week they plan ton show the trailer and then the week after do a deep dive.

So basically same as last year. Season will be 3-4 weeks in when game releases.

But you replied to me in another post that it would only be a week and last year being 2-3 weeks was something "out of their control". Maybe we can just accept that they don't care even a little bit about this product? This game just feels like an afterthought that they are now forced into putting out every year against their will - often with nothing significant changing. If we are being honest, FHM 10 wasn't significantly different than FHM 2 and I sincerely doubt FHM 11 will be any better.

They never have these issues with OOTP. That is out and ready to go in early March, weeks before opening day.

Savoie was referencing a delay caused by the renewal of the NHL License I believe, which was indeed unforeseen. I've just responded to your other comment with some information regarding the difference between OOTP Developements (the developer) and their role as a publisher with FHM, which is made by Game54. A very small team that consists of (I believe) Jeff as Producer and Sebastian and Malte as Developers, though the credits can be seen here in the manual - https://manuals.ootpdevelopments.com...0&page=Credits

You're able to see the credits for OOTP Baseball via the main launch screen of the game - once there you'll notice that the 'OOTP Team' is significantly larger than the 3 people involved in FHM.

Sorry for being so blunt but this does not seem like a serious comment. If they didn't care, it wouldn't come out at all. Hockey is by far a niche sport when compared to American football, baseball, and basketball and of course football/soccer. I saw a comment similar to yours about EA's NHL game on why they didn't put more resources into changes to the game. Someone talked about the numbers of buys vs Madden or EA FC. It was not even close. They also said the developers for Madden have a whole floor while the developers for NHL get a corner of a floor. Corporations apply resources when there is a ROI, they don't do it out of goodwill towards a (niche) audience. That is why a boycott won't work. If 30+% of Madden's audience didn't buy it might result in changes. If 30+% of NHL's audience didn't buy the game, they might just abandon the game altogether.

FHM was always going to be a labor of love for the team. In fact, I remember them saying that they would work on it when not working on OOTP. See if you can find those initial posts to see how hard they worked to get this off the ground. The team has actually grown (slightly) and I believe they also contract out parts of development. So growth has been slow but to say FHM10 wasn't significantly different than FHM2 is, again, not serious.

3 weeks (or whatever) will fly by and when we get there it won't matter that it wasn't this week.

I get the frustration and there are things I wish were different as do others (there is a huge thread for an FHM11 Wishlist if you'd like to see) but I can also be pragmatic enough to realize they are doing the best they can to keep this going including multiple patches based upon player feedback to make each release the best it can be. That of course means less time (in many cases) working on the next version which has a knock on effect. I love this game and hope they keep it going since I have been here since the first version. Is it perfect? No. Will I stop writing about the things I want changed? No. But I also live in the world of "is" not "should be".

It was 100% serious. And at least EA puts the game out in time. It will be the same thing for me as last year... once the season gets going and my excitement for new games associated with the league passes, I won't buy this, just as I didn't last year. There is a competition out there for people's money for entertainment, FHM just don't seem interested in trying to join the competition.

I had a friend who did buy it last year and shared a copy of the game so eventually I got in and toyed around with it in January or so. But if you think it is a much different game than when it first came out years ago, I don't know what to tell you. It's impossible to not win at least 9 out of every 10 cups after your 4th season of working with and rebuilding a franchise. Sure, you can play in the Belarus league and complete nonsense like that, what a huge drawing factor that is.

Meaning they don't have the interest or resources to do this properly, as if it's not something they care about as an overall product? If they did they would have more people working on it to be a product that is ready for marketing and distributing. So basically you mean to say that it's exactly what I have been saying? Thank you for confirming.

I am sure the 3 guys involved are great and do great work, but that in no way changes that the product lacks because of the lack of support they have working on it. It isn't a shot at the developers, it's just a very clear comment that the product suffers and isn't anywhere near a priority. I just don't see how that can be disputed.

Ok when I said a week that is Jeff hoped would be the case. Unfortunately it wasn’t. They will have something next week almost certainly. 2-3 weeks is my guess for release, not when they will have info.

Comparing EA to OOTP is way unfair to FHM. EA NHL is backed by a huge corporation and has far more developers and resources available to them compared to either of the OOTP products. They are able to release their products at the beginning of season for these reasons.

If you don't like it, then don't buy it. I would much rather wait until the developers are comfortable to release a game than for them to pick a release day and have to rush or cut content to reach it, or release a completely broken game. ANY game that releases is going to have bugs and issues even AAA (or AAAA, whatever that actually is). I agree with other comments, if they didn't care, they would either not release it or put out a slightly refreshed version of the same game every year (Like Call of Duty or any EA Sports game). This isn't even close to in the same vein as EA's NHL series. They are two completely different games. One is a sports game and the other is a simulation. Your comments are in no way providing anything constructive.

They're two separate companies, I don't think I can say it any simpler than that.

Honestly, it's more impressive seeing grown men get upset over a hockey simulator.
