I've never rooted harder for a team to lose the rest of their games. Make history, boys, I say.

They did it! They did it!
The White Sox lost today, their fifth in a row, and in the process reached 120 losses, tying the Mets' record of 1962. 36-120 with six games to go. 6-0 to finish 42-120. 5-1 to finish 41-121. 4-2 to finish 40-122. 3-3 to finish 39-123. 2-4 to finish 38-124. 1-5 to finish 37-125. 0-6 to finish 36-126. Place your bet as to which of the above will happen. |

Under. Most dead bodies twitch for a bit longer before finally coming to rest. Also, the Angels. I have no faith in the Halos being able to climb over some roadkill in the street.

Seriously? His OPS is 33rd all time, right below Lance Berkman. Sheesh. His lifetime OBP is 289th. It would take all day to list them all.
Even his batting average, career, is in the .270's, and is 30th, amongst ACTIVE players. Peeps need to calm down. Sure. He is a good player. He's also 30, with just 800 hits. Last edited by dsvitak; Yesterday at 04:21 PM. |

Heard on the Dan LeBatard show today.....
Ohtani in his last 4 games has 14H's, 13 RBI, 6SB's, 5HR's. If every MLB player since 1920 (when RBI 1st were counted) was to take his career best 4 game stretch in each category & combined them, it still wouldn't match Ohtani's last 4.

Oh but you don’t like Bonds because reasons? Ok. Griffey hit 8 homers in 8 games in 93. Julio Rodriguez set the record of 17 hits in just 4 games. I could go on, but I’ll just quote Aaron Levenstein- “Statistics are like bikinis. What they reveal is suggestive, but what they conceal is vital.”

I understand it as no single player having four individual 4-game stretches with an equal or higher total in ALL of the four categories.

An observation of the White Sox record since the All-Star break:
27-71 .275 (through games of July 14) 09-49 .156 (since July 14) 17-34 .333 at home (through games of July 14) 03-24 .111 at home (since July 14) 10-37 .213 on road (through games of July 14) 06-25 .194 on road (since July 14) If the team had maintained that pre-All-Star break .275 rate it would be at a record of 43-113. |
