Why have the forums load-time slowed down?

You aren't... most of that so-called tolerance is fake. All they want is like and validation none of this is sincere, in fact the most tolerants are the lesser one when they are behind the scenes or not online. Maybe my generation isn't as tolerant (but who is all the time for everybody?) but at least we don't change our song depending of what side the wind goes...

I was aware of this response, but it was an acknowledgement of the problem - not much more. It would have been nice if a bit more descriptive; Server issue, or even "it's a bit complex and will take a while to sort out". I know we're not privy to details, but some ongoing communication that describes an issue that requires some time would go a long way in avoiding some of the posts that assume they're not interested in the forums any longer.

I've been a customer for 20+ years, like many of you, and feel a bit slighted that new ownership just sees me as two twenty dollar bills. We use to be family (almost) and it's difficult to accept we're now just 40% of a Benjamin.

The forums are still the primary communications channel. It's a technical issue with the servers/backups/process stuff. Things we need to work through to make sure they can be stable going forward.

Thank you Matt. I apologize if I'm being a thorn, but a description like this both confirms the forums are still viable and the issue is more than rebooting a server. It clears a path to knowing things will return to normal at some point.

Seems that some progress is being made. Most of the time it changes screens in about 15 seconds or so.... yesterday it seemed like a minute or so.

Last night at around 2AM CDT the servers were click and load, like the issue sorted itself out. They are back to being slow but not like 20 seconds slow now. 5 to 10 seconds.

This may or may not be of any use, but here's what I see....

15-20 seconds to initially open the Forum,
15-20 seconds to open a sub-forum (like Dynasties),
10-20 seconds to open a post (with text),
... but many images (mostly those uploaded the last few weeks) won't load even after 10 minutes.

This is on a PC that loads CNN (with images) instantly.

Thanks, Matt ... as of Saturday morning 9/7/24 things seem to actually be back to normal, so hopefully the fix sticks

Comforting to know I wasn't the only one seeing a problem with the forum loading. As for the young folk, they are quick to pick up new tech but often become absorbed by it.
