Practicing drawing stuff, I drew the top of the Roberto Clemente Bridge (it's been done before, and better) . I could have just stolen an image, but I thought I'd try to put some shapes together. Ended up with some minimalist logos for Pittsburgh (Pirates, Grays or Baseball Club), and I made one for the Homestead Grays too.

Here it is with some rivets! It felt like it needed some rivets. And a slightly more evocative font. The team could even be called the Rivets or Riveters.

added a Rivets logo I've amused myself enough into naming my own Pittsburgh team the Rivets, but the small logos and the first one from a couple posts ago can be used for any Pittsburgh team name

I redid this one a little. Hard to see, but the waves where the whale is hitting the water is now the shape of Oregon's northern border. The ornate P is from one of tm's teams, I just recolored it

I've replaced my St. Louis team (previously the Cardinals-parody, Spiders, above in this thread). It's now less of a parody, and more of an imagined alternate history. Well, I like this one better.

Inevitably, the team is also known as the Vs - here is their simplistic V logo. I like to think this replicates a little of the Cardinals' menace



I prefer to make up expansive team identities with multiple nickname possibilities, like the Bronx Bombers, so if the real Cardinals can be the Redbirds, of course this could be the St Louis Victors or Vs

Finally, for those who might want a sane team name (not me, I'm calling them the Vermilions), I flipped this over to make a minimal St Louis Archers.


the colors throughout are the vermilion color code from wikipedia, and the dark blue and cream from the Cardinal's cream home uniform

A minor league team for the Vermilions or a fictionalized replacement for the Cardenales de Lara. The vermilion cardinal.

I've already said in my thread, but saying again here for good measure, these are beautiful. I think these are some of my favourites of yours. There's something really classy about the colour scheme, the boldness and yet still detailed (feathery) nature of the flycatcher, the font and the V shape with white outlines. It looks super professional. Obviously this team has been added to my expansion list. I was looking for a St. Louis team anyway.

Just my opinion.

On the logos the Red/Black bird does not show up well on the black background.
Prefer the white background... Light gray might even be better.

I couldn't decide either, if I liked the black blending into the background or not. I made both (I'm always making many slightly different options) - as ever anything can be tweaked around if someone wants something.

I drew a grain elevator (I drew this grain elevator)

I'm using this for a small minor league team in Manitoba (hence the founding date), but I've included an Alberta version without a date.

I found myself reading about agrarian labor history and decaying wooden structures in small Canadian towns. Elevators seemed to me to be a great baseball name, referring to launch angle and pitching up in the zone.

I made the Toronto Grey Jays before, but I'm happier with this one. I've also wanted to try to start drawing people, so I did, in a way; I traced this old baseball card. The leaves are from wikipedia commons, and the helicopter seeds around the T aren't quite right (it's supposed to be a M), but it's ok for now
