Which camera angle do you use when watching 3D?
This is what I go for -- to recreate the feeling of being at the ballpark. Minimalist behind home plate and elevated a bit. No stat overlays. No moving cameras. All of the icons disappear when the ball is in play, and only the pitcher & batter icons are displayed before the pitch is made.
The historical ballpark mod is an absolute must, of course. |

Yeah, I like and use that view too. I do sometimes like the camera from CF to see the pitcher throw. Seeing the whole field allows me to follow the action better. The other camera angles are just great too, very creative. And I use the reply SuperStat a lot!

Static HP action. No dynamic or ball following for me bc moving camera is still too herky jerky for me. Feels like I’m watching the game from the press box

I really enjoy it.
OOTP25 is darn good in 3D animation. I'm so glad they fixed the glitches like balls and players running through the fences and the foul balls near home plate going off at weird, unrealistic angles. As long as you use simple cameras, it is pretty smooth, too. Don't care for the dynamic cameras with the zooming. It is too herky jerky and not smooth enough for me. It could be I just don't know how to properly set up the cameras. I use just two simple carmeras. Close up view from first base dugout for the pitch camera. And wide view for the action camera, so I can see all of the play. I just don't understand why the 3D animators can't make the camera views better. They should be able to create default cameras that look good. What the problem? Wish some of the 3D folks would tell what the problem is. Or maybe good guys Matt Arnold or Lukas Berger would chime in. How does it look when you guys play games in 3D? How do you make the cameras look good? What is the best tutorial for setting camera views? Last edited by Eugene Church; 08-23-2024 at 04:24 PM. |
