How much time do you play OOTP per week?

I promise this will be my last poll for awhile. I just find myself curious as to the make up of our OOTP community.

Cool. Because after the other polls on location, age, etc., this one makes it look like you're trying to determine how often people are home so you can break in when they're not.

Playing wise atm I’m still not playing as much as I would like to but i’m watching and reading a hell of a lot OOTP related content. I probably spend 20 hours plus per week doing that alone lol Tbh that’s probably underestimating it.

I was going to wait awhile before posting the "What is your home address?" post so no one would pick up on that. Damn!

I too wish I had more time to play but between working 45-50 hrs a week, managing my fantasy baseball leagues, spending time with my wife, and dealing with a lot of fatigue I don't end up with much time for OOTP. Throw in the fact that it's the time of the year to begin my fantasy football prep and my time playing will probably dip into the 1-5 hr a week range until after my fantasy foot ball drafts. I'm jealousy of those of you who are retired and have alot of time to play.

There's not as much free time as you think. Retired people spend a lot of time going to doctor's appointments, and burn up a huge chunk of time complaining about things that are none of their business.

Hell, I'm not retired but already doing both of those things. My wife would tell you I do too much of the latter and have fully embraced my inner grumpy old man.

Well then I suggest that you volunteer at the community center. A friend and I work senior events. Once I pointed out half the attendees were younger than us!

Im in the 1-5 range, occasionally maybe doing 6 or 7 hours in a given week here and there. I really don't touch it on the weekdays just with everything going on in life and I don't feel like OOTP is a game you can put in a quick 30 minutes with. I feel like any time you start it up it requires at least an hour of your time. So, I'm really limited to that 1-5 range on weekends.

Truthfully, I'm not sure I could ever put in 20 hours a week with OOTP and not go completely insane. Not saying that I haven't done so maybe once or twice here and there, but week after week to average 20+ hours? Not sure how you could do that without going mad. Good for those of you who can!

I know what you mean. I only started fantasy baseball this season but the leagues I’m in are not very active so if you’ve got any suggestions of good leagues for next session please let me know. I’ve already drafted a few of my football leagues and have several others coming up over the next few weeks but I really want to spend to more time on OOTP soon.

LOL one of the best descriptions of retirement I have heard.

I actually started with OOTP right after I retired, figuring it would fill in gaps in my life. Hah. What gaps? I quickly unretired, at least to work part-time, so my playing time was limited. Then the grandchildren started coming, fast and furious. They are great.

I've mercifully been spared the medical appointments, except for the myriad vaccinations for this and that and the other thing. Not complaining!

But I have written dozens and dozens of letters to the editor, and frequently make comments on web sites I visit (in addition to this one). So yeah, the grump old retired guy. "Not him again!"

It was hard to divvy up my estimated hours playing OOTP from the time spent on forums. And, as analyzed on another thread, too much of my "playing" time is not games but setting up or tweaking another sim, trades, rosters, minor leagues (which I guess fits the broad definition of "playing").

I play around with the mods stuff more than playing out a game. I'm sorry but I don't like today's game. That's not OOTP's fault. It's how they run baseball that turns me off. Historical 99.9%. Making uniforms and making facegens more than playing a game. I think I play a game just to see how my creations look.
