So we're back to this again, an issue that I have been running into since FHM7 I think. I am now on the latest version of FHM10 and it still plagues me.
I am in the 1980 draft and have traded for some picks, including Toronto's 1st round, 7th overall. It shows that I own the pick but then won't let me use it. I saved before the new season started and have uploaded the backup as Protomolecule10-1980-07-28.zip. Open that save and perform the following steps and you should see what I posted in the attached screenshot.

Has anyone been able to reproduce this? I pretty much bought FHM 10 to play this one scenario.

We looked into it and it is indeed more of a display problem.
To avoid this problem going forward you should make a "quit and reload" after a draft is finished (either when manually finishing the draft on the draft screen or after simulating the day of the draft). In FHM 11 it will be fixed of course.

I did a "quit and reload" before starting the draft and the picks I traded for got shifted to the next year. I suppose I can go in and shift all the picks to the current year in Commissioner mode. Will I have to do that every season, or is just something related to the draft process changing in 1980?

Yeah, the quit & reload was not to "fix" your current wrong picks (technically you have the correct pick, it just looked wrong when you made the pick).
So if you want to shift them to this year go ahead and edit them. Going forward you only need to make one quit & reload directly after a draft is finished and it should show them correctly in trades and therefore not shift them anymore.

Actually, it shifted all the 1980 picks that I traded for to 1981. It wasn't just displaying them wrong. |

When you made the trades it showed "1980" but internally it were "1981" picks. It now displays them correctly, so it looks like it shifts them back to 1981.
As long as you do a quit & reload after a draft (on loading it corrects the display problems) you should not see the problem again (hopefully ).

I see now. The display issue occurs throughout the system. Looking back at the save that I uploaded I see 1979 picks listed on the Team Detail/Edit screen even though it's already 1980.
Thanks again for the help and I am glad this issue is slated for a fix in FHM 11. I take it that FHM is already at "end of life" for additional patches? |
