Hello,
I recently purchased the game on Steam. Whenever I try to start a new game I get an error saying "Could not open game folder". I've tried running the game as an administrator, I've made sure I have plenty of space on my drive. I've uninstalled the game as well, and when I reinstalled it I noticed that it did not generate a new OutOfTheParks folder in my documents folder. Previously I received an "Error: could not create game folder" At that time the OutOfTheParks folder was in my OneDrive -> Documents folder. Maybe that's caused an issue. In any case, any help in getting the game running would be greatly appreciated. I'm running FHM 10 on Windows 11 Thanks |

OneDrive is definitely causing the issue. Have you tried moving where the game install is located? You can do this in settings.

I just tried this under settings -> misc -> custom data path
However, there is no folder being generated under the path I selected, which was to my Downloads folder. When I try starting a new game I still get the same error. Edit: I backed up my data on Steam and created a folder under my user -> Documents folder. I then set the custom data path to that folder, but still no luck. if I try to run any other game mode, other than "new standard game" the game just crashes. If not, the basic steps would be: 1) uninstall the game completely, just do that via Steam. 2) Then I usually go to the following directories and make sure every trace of the game is gone : C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Franchise Hockey Manager 10 C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Out of the Park Developments 3) Usually this is the step where I disable OneDrive, or at least advise it. Most people I've met who've had this issue don't actually use it for anything and it causes these issues. I can't remember off the top of my head if there is a way to specify things not to be installed there as default. The location you want the game to be installed at is this: "C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\Documents\Out of the Park Developments" 4) Either way, now the game has been uninstalled and all traces removed, you can reinstall it and open the game for the first time (this is where it will create all of it's base contents in whatever location) and at that point you can now try to perform the 'settings -> misc -> custom data path' but bare in mind that you need to have created the directory you want to install to first So just go to the location I've mentioned above and create an OOTP folder, then inside that create a 'Franchise Hockey Manager' and then set that as the new install location and it should hopefully work. I'm doing this from memory on my phone but if you're still having trouble after hit me up and we can switch to Discord or I can try to advise further etc. EDIT - just for my own clarity/sanity, I'm assuming (for myself) that the issue you have at this stage is because the save has somehow become unusable due to Onedrive and it's interference with read/write issues that cause FHM to crash now when you're trying to do anything.
