Hall of Fame Showcase

We have added a few new items to the Hall of Fame showcase in-game. You will have to restart to have it fetch the new items, and it may take a day or two depending on when you last fetched the update for it.

How do you access the Hall of Fame Showcase with items in it? All I have when I click on the link is "Coming Soon"

You need to make sure to have updated to the latest version. If you still see the coming soon you likely have an earlier version installed.

Finally looked at the HoF showcase.
My question is ...why is this here? It certainly seems to be way below OOTP's excellent features/standards.
There is much better MLB historic stuff on the HoF web site, at no charge.

We don't charge for it either It's part of a deal we have with the Hall of Fame.

Unfortunately, part of that deal is having the Hall of Fame renamed as "Legends Gallery" in a game that prides itself on authenticity.

Yeah that was the real bummer for me. It's a deal that really doesn't do anything good for either side.

I am not speculating as to what the impetus of this was. Nor do I care about what lawyers don't care about. If there was some legal hassle, so be it.

I am merely pointing out that the use of the Hall of Fame name in the game is gone now and I miss it. The inclusion of 18 or 19 pictures of HoF plaques and artifacts in the "Hall of Fame Showcase" does not make up for that. I could readily find all of those images online.

Attempting to sugar-coat things with the HoF Showcase falls flat and Markus's comment "We don't charge for it either" was condescending. Kind of like the de facto decision to discontinue the manual although in that case the condescension comes in the form of ignoring the community altogether.

When you first start the game, it's one of the main menu options.

Yes, it seems odd that the HoF showcase was a primary listed feature for this release. For me, it doesn't add to core gameplay or immersion, with information that is readily accessible elsewhere. I am hopeful this is a partnership relationship that somehow brings greater awareness to OOTP and, by extension, future robust development cycles.
