Bench Player for X days should be settable without locking player strategy

Currently, in order to force bench a player for X days when strategy is set to AI control, you must lock the player's strategy, and then remember to unlock their strategy after the X days is over. This is a minor annoyance, but still an annoyance that I believe could be easily resolved. I personally prefer not to micromanage players' in-game strategy, but do try to bench players with DtD injuries so that the AI doesn't try to start them and get them more injured.

On this note, it may make sense for AI to be less likely to start players who have DtD injuries, especially with moderate performance impact.

I've never had to lock it for the benching to work.

This is likely because you have set control of player strategies to yourself. If it is set to AI, then the bench for X days setting is disabled (greyed out) unless you lock strategies.

Not that I disagree with you that this is annoying and could be done much better, what you've said isn't strictly true.

If you go into the player's strategy tab, check ENABLE STRATEGIES, then enter the number of days you want him benched in the appropriate spot, then uncheck ENABLE STRATEGIES again the days you've entered should still hold and be obeyed by the game.

Try it and report back how you go.
