It would be a little bit more helpful if you would explain what you think is a joke about them and what type of league you have (fictional, historical, modern, etc) and what your injury settings are. Assuming you want the developers to fix something you really haven't provided them much to go on.

I play with the high realistic setting. I find them to be realistic.

Exactly the same here, just need to look at how some teams lineups irl have been decimated to see it's pretty realistic. How do you find the long term effects on players though. I have seen a lot of moans on here and elsewhere about injuries turning players to fragile quickly after multiple, have you noticed this?

I play out every game so only get in two and sometimes three seasons per version and then import into the next version. So long term affects for me are spread out between the yearly updates and whatever ways they tweak the game. Having said that some players that have carried forward during the imports have fragile and wrecked injury descriptors. I find those players to be a mixed bag on if\when they get injured again and how much time they miss. Some get hit three, four, or more times a year. Others go two or three seasons without anything more than a day to day. If it is a problem I don't see it. What I love about realistic injury is the way it forces you to build depth in your organization. Decide whether to call up the young developing star in a season you planned on keeping him at AAA or go with a filler player to get you through. Sign a FA or two to stock the AAA team if I don't think I have the depth I need for the upcoming season. etc. etc.

Have you been following MLB this year with all of the pitchers arm injuries?

I play with injuries set to "Low" for both short and long-term. That's because I don't want injuries to disrupt play too much (as they can and do IRL). As expected, the players who still do get injured are the players with a significant injury history or propensity. So, in my sims it is still a known risk to rely on those players.
I do try to rest guys who are not 100% and show signs of decreased production due to fatigue. I would like to think that reduces the chance of injury, but I'm not sure the game works that way. Anybody know?

“Tired players don't perform as well, and are also more prone to suffering injuries.” The manual also states that pitch count increases the chance for injury.

Yeah, Milwaukee just traded for the ghost of Dallas Keuchel becauae their whole rotation is out. Position players too, league just lost Correa, Schwarber and Harper to various types of injuries yesterday and we already have long term injuries to elite players like Bogaerts, Acuna, Betts and Trout.

Yeah, as a Phils fan, Harper and Schwarber (why was he playing in the outfield?!) going down in the same game seems like a bad joke to me.

You make me think back to the days when the Cubs were trying to make him into a left fielder. What was it, the 2nd game of the 2016 season when he plowed into Dexter Fowler chasing down a gapper and took himself out for the season. 99% of the time, we are idiots compared to the minds who are employed by MLB teams........ but occasionally we as fans see something. From the very second that I saw him clunking around in the OF years ago, I knew that was a bad idea. Truthfully, he shouldn't even own a glove at this point. Just DH and hit dingers. |

The injury moans on here and elsewhere are ridiculous to be honest. You have six different settings each for short term or long term injuries and you can just turn it off all together if you want so I genuinely don't understand why anyone starts a thread like this.
