Adding Cash In Trades

If there could be a way to add cash to a deal for other team to see if they will go for a straight cash for player deal would be great. It would also be nice to be able to add cash considerations to the deal even after the players have been added to see the response.

Thanks!

You can already do both of those.

I think he's talking about trading away a player and getting only cash in return. As far as I can tell, you can't do that.

And I also think the second thing he mentions is adding cash after the AI team has accepted the deal. I've been trying to make a one-for-one deal in my league that the AI is willing to accept, but I'd also like the AI to throw in some money. The problem is, once the AI says it will accept the deal, the spot to add cash is "greyed out" and you can't put money into the deal on either side.

If they accept the 1-for-1 deal, then simply remove a player from the deal & then add the cash to the now un-greyed out cash box

Not saying you're wrong, but it's still greyed out in your screenshot. And if you hit submit, won't it also tell you that one of the teams has offered no players?

Like I said earlier, though, I could be wrong.

Trading cash for players has been discussed as part of improving trading and financials for early baseball. Iirc in the discussion it was something that currently can't be done.

Yes, it' grayed out b/c the trade is satisfactory for the AI to the point that they'll accept it on demand. If I take out one of the players I'm offering, then voila, I can edit the amount I'm asking for from the AI & then put the player back into the offer

No, it completes the trade

Maybe you guys are talking about getting cash offers from players being shopped? Or getting a cash amount shown when you hit the "make it work" button?

Yes, you can take all the players out and then the cash option is available. I would like for it to be available all the time so that it makes negotiations easier. If you had one player you wanted and wanted to add a one star, depth player, you can drag and drop their name in addition to the player(s) you want. I want the ability to ask for cash in trades without having to clear the players out so that it is an option.

Okay, this is a pretty reasonable request. You can add players to an already-accepted trade, but not money. That doesn't make much sense.

That can definitely be done on either side of the deal.

OK, I never tried that. I'll give it a shot tonight. It would be nice if it didn't grey out at all, though. That way we can find out what the max amount of cash is that the AI would throw into the deal without having to keep taking the player out each time to change the cash amount.

OK, I stand corrected. I'll have to try that out tonight, too.

For all the posts I appreciate the input. Now, I must confess that I erred in forgetting that this was for when you shop a player around and click on the trade for the offer.

I know that this is what the AI at that time finds acceptable, but having the ability to ask for a kicker of $100,00 or any amount would be nice without the need to redo the players, etc. I view shop around as the foundation of a trade and trying to get those few fringe players, money, etc., in the deal as part of the fun.

Sorry for not clarifying that in my first post. I was channeling my inner Pascual Perez on Interstate 285.

Brand new to hockey in general, much less this game.

How do I add cash to an offer for AI?
