Exclamation OOTP 25 public beta patch (version 25.6.71) available! [Updated June 24]

Update June 24: We updated the public beta to build number 25.6.71, adding a few new fixes.

Important: This patch is only for OOTP 25 versions which were purchased directly from us or resellers who use our version. It is also available via the Steam client with the public password below.

Hi everybody!

As always, we've been working on further improving the game, and here is a public beta for the upcoming 6th patch, version 25.6.71. Please give it a try and report bugs here if you'd like to help

Note to online league members: This patch is not compatible between versions. Once the commish updates, all league members have to update as well.
Use this at your own risk! Please back up important league files before loading them in this beta.

Changelists 25.6.71:
Updated default rosters (need to start a new game for changes to apply), fixes some ratings typos.
Fixed draft player SB stats
Fixed historical career fielding ratings for select players

Changelists 25.6.70:
Updated default rosters (need to start a new game for changes to apply).
Updated initial fictional player contracts/team financials
Adjusted owner budget calculations
Added “shuffle teams” option to edit schedule page
Updated default window size when windows scaling enabled
Fixed some off-season awards scheduling
Fixed prospects being put on waivers at the end of the season
Fixed retire according to history missing some minor league players
Fixed injury rating underflow in rare cases for outstanding speed and stamina development program results
Fixed player editor neutral ERA estimate
CSV/SQL exports:
To player value table, add “oa_rating” and “pot_rating” to display calculated ratings (stars/20-80)
To scouted ratings table, add “overall” and “talent” fields with the current ratings, change “overall_rating” and “talent_rating” to display calculated ratings (stars/20-80)
PT: Fixes select 101+ card issues
PT: Fixed some issues of visiting a tournament with a server-saved roster defaulting it to a static roster instead
PT: Added confirmations to buy/sell orders. Triggers when price less than 1/2 or more than double L10, when order would trigger immediate buy/sell, or any list price over 50k
PT: Added option to view tournaments only accepting teams to hide filled tournaments
PT: Fixed hang/crash when tournament roster files were broken
PT: Adjusted logic when forcing AI to build cap tournament rosters
PT: Updated Roster Builder restrictions list filtering
PT: Added option to specify combinators first or combinators last in mission lock
PT: Added option to filter whether cards are on saved tournament rosters
Misc bugfixes & tweaks

How to access the beta on Steam:
  • Quit OOTP 25 if it's running.
  • Open Steam client -> Library
  • Right click on Out of the Park Baseball 25
  • Click on "Properties" at the bottom of the menu
  • Click on the beta tab. Here, enter the following code / password: ootp25betapt
  • Click on "Check code"
  • Open the beta pull-down and select "publicbeta".
  • Close the Steam client (Steam menu -> Exit)
  • Open the client again. It should then download the beta build.
Update Info for our webstore customers: To apply the update, simply download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course. Updates always contain all the changes from previous updates. Saved games are compatible between different versions.

Download link for PC Beta (Fastspring Webstore Version):
Main server: PC Installer
Mirror: http://ootpdevfiles.com/ootp/25.6.71/ootp25setup.exe

Here's a PC installer (Fastspring) that installs into a single folder, which is useful for external HDs for example. Or for creating a second test install of the game, so you can try the patch out without the risk of messing up your main install of the game if something is wrong in the patch:
PC Single Folder Installer

Download link for Mac (FastSpring):
Main Server: Mac OSX Installer

Please post here if you have any issues or if you run into major bugs. Thanks!

Cheers,
The OOTP Team

schedules from 2025 on?

I'm glad to see budgets are adjusted but are schedules fixed in the standard game? Is player development finally working correctly?

The shuffle schedule works "ok". I guess it'll do for now. For my game, it doesn't completely shuffle the schedule, keeps the same series schedule, just changes some dates.

I LOVE the idea of the schedule shuffle feature, but it does not shuffle randomly. It generates the same exact five (I think) shuffled schedules in the exact same sequence.

Correct, it only changes a few dates here and there. Mine basically has two schedules.

I have to assume you are referring to Plaz's power ratings?

If memory serves, the Devs said that the ratings scale was extended this year to 550, but I don't know if the numbers in the Commissioner screen match up, but are a finer representation of just how good or bad a player rating is at a given time.
Looks like Plaz just happens to be a unicorn outlier on the power bell curve, thus the extreme number. Notice how that translates to a 95 potential, 15 points above the normal 80 in the game. I think this just shows you how incredibly rare Plaz is in OOTP.

Just my guess, but perhaps it is an error in the data.

This is a super minor bug but if you guys do a follow-up patch, I just want to point out that Rule V drafts should default to OFF when you are using real-world transactions.

It's super easy for me to catch and turn off in my games, but other players might miss it.

edit: just noticed... even if you turn off the Rule V, it will re-enable itself for each season. Probably shouldn't be allowed when using historical transactions.

Has to be an error, in my save at 19 y/o he hit .247 99 HRs 157 RBI and a 7.9 WAR

Also, teams are still putting young guys with option years left on waiver wire. So doesn't seem fixed.

Are they good young players? There are plenty of reasons to DFA someone with options left

One of them was Matthew Liberatore. He’s not a top 100 prospect but still has potential. He had a good season in the minors too.

Granted, if that’s all that comes up in the waiver wire, it’s a lot better than what it was.

It you look at Plaz' other ratings, it would appear extra digits got added to his Power ratings. Looks to me like he was meant to be a 204/277/179/204. That would be roughly consistent with his other ratings. As Commissioner, I would make that change.
