Historical League Draft classes wrong

OOTP 25 is not loading the correct draft class. Players are mostly fictional and the top player in the draft is rated 50. Everyone else is 20-40 range.

It has occurred in a couple of my historical leagues now. The incoming draft classes are not historical but instead all fictional players and all very low rated.

So this sounds like a potential disaster for online historical leagues.

Our league is in 1980 and are approaching the end of the season when we were going to switch from 24 to 25. Now that is all on hold. Any chance we can get a Dev to respond to this thread?

I had this too. The draft had fictional instead of real players, even though the historic draft players option was selected. I noticed in the draft history log that the draft history was not correct. The draft history log had the upcoming draft recorded as the previous draft. In other words, the game already has the draft completed and so I think it uses fictional players because it thinks the draft was already done. I have this in the bug forum about a month ago.

Are y'all creating your leagues using the Historical League Creation Wizard?

Is the box right below the option to hold a amateur draft checked or unchecked? Can't remember what that options says exactly, but it prevents the game from creating fictional free agents.

Most of the historical draft issues I’ve seen posted are with regard to moving the draft or even the draft reveal date to a date in-season or otherwise much earlier than the default settings which seemingly has the effect of creating a disconnect from when the game brings draftees in and when the user wants to see them appear in-game. The historical game tends to do drafts in November so all the dates synch. Some try to move it to June, which breaks the baked-in game logic resulting in scenarios as described. That’s my best guess reading the many threads out there in this describing the same issue.

That’s why I asked the OP for more details about what they changed from the default settings.

When people move the draft class out of the off season (Oct 1 to March 31) It will think the draft has already been completed and if the draft is moved to June or July, the very first draft will have almost no players with nothing in it. IF you move your draft to June, July to match today, you will have to wait one full season in game before you get an actual draft.

Matt put the draft in November so that the draft is before FA and it will not mess up your FA comps. Next since the game does not do historical international Free Agents and they actually come in as a part of the Amateur draft, Matt wanted to have the draft before June or July so that the IFA were ready to play opening day.

So in historical drafts it is just best to keep it in November.
