Similar issue. I'm trying to load a game saved two days ago, and it says this is a OOTP24 game and needs to be imported. But it's 2025, and so I can't import. Any help much appreciated.
Ironically, a game that was last played 3 weeks ago loads up just fine. |

No game will load. I tried installing previous patches to see if the files would work and still get the Installation failed. Could not write to the following folder C:\User\Documents\Outoftheparkdevelopments\OOTP25 Baseball($MYCUSTDATA). PLEASE RE-INSTALL OOTP25. The games menu comes on after I click ok then a list of Installation Failed Files come on screen..

OK, I'm an old guy who likes playing OOTP. I, too, did the update and when trying to play Perfect Game, get a message that "OOTP client is not up to date. Please install the latest version."
In the Update instructions, I hit the link to download, completed the download and dragged the icon into the applications folder. Did I do this right? Any help appreciated. |

Where can I find the update instructions? I am getting the same "OOTP Client needs updated" error when trying to open up Perfect Team..

There's nothing special to do, just download the .exe, then run it and you should be good to go.

You may be able to restore the save from the autosave function. To restore from the automatic backup, do the following: 1) Open the game and on the start screen, click on Settings 2) Now click on the tab "Troubleshooting". 3) Click "Open folder containing saved games". 4) Now open up the league folder you're wanting to restore. 5) Then select all of the .dat files in the folder and back them up (just in case) by copying them to a temporary folder or creating a zipped file with them 6) Open the folder called "auto-save". 7) In there, select all of the ".dat" files and copy them to the league folder (the parent of the current folder) overwriting all of the ".dat" files in the league folder. 8) Now start the game and load your league. You may lose some progress depending on when the autosave last backed things up, but hopefully you should be able to get going again.

If you can open the game enough to go to settings > troubleshooting > force reinstall game data, hitting that button should fix things up.

So I tried to to do a full un-install and for some reason it did not delete any of my files. I got a QUESTION notification saying " Do you really want to delete all files and folders in ?????????????". Looked like a virus was blocking the patch or any installation. I decided to do a clean install and created another folder in my C: for the game files and it worked. Thanks guys

patch failed, so did the uninstall...
I d/l the latest patch 25.5.67 and suffered the same problems as others posted here, namely after installing the patch I got a pc error message saying OOTP25 couldn't load properly. I hit the enter button and the game loaded, but the in-game error message told me I had no saved game files.
I went to these forums and read Lukas' replies and then tried to follow the same instructions, and when my first try failed - I did some digging and see that my game is user defined D:/Out of the Park Developments/ OOTP25 (this is different than my OOTP23 or OOTP24 file name setup) it has all the game files but no saves, however a warning box directed me when I tried loading the application file that I had more than one instance of OOTP25 running, even though the game wasn't open. I've found also under "D:/Program Files" a copy of OOTP25 located in my program files WHICH I never chose that filepath when installing and it's done it twice to me now when I apply the patch after uninstalling/reinstalling the game. I'm also having to remove the game and files manually as the uninstall hangs up and I'm getting the computer telling me (no response) in the upper left hand corner of the screen at the top. Any ideas? |
