John Knight 89

My first reaction was, "Great, an old Yankee I've never heard of".

When I got the card, I read his career.

Only one season with NYY in 1913. But the card says "1910"

In 1910, Knight was on the Browns.

The card says "SS". But Knight never played shortstop for the Yankees in 1913 or any other season.

What an inept and disappointing selection.

Not sure who you are referring to, but the only John Knight in Baseball Reference played four years with New York, from 1909-11 and 1913. He also never played for the Browns, spending time with the Yankees, Red Sox, Senators and Athletics. As for playing Shortstop, in 1910 he played 79 of this 117 games at SS.

The stats I quoted are from when you click on his player card REAL LIFE STATS section. You might try that yourself.

So you're mad that the real life stats (the most inconsequential part of the card) are wrong but all the important stuff if correct?

I mean, sure we could get a little quality control there, but seems like a bit of a nothing-burger on the list of things to complain about.

How do you know what input was used to created the 'card'? I've lost faith in everything about PT.

And the problem--as I pointed out before--is that there are thousands of your 'nothing burgers' and they add up to a heap of pig poop.

Yeah, they goofed the team he played for from 1909-11 in the Real Life Stats. He played for New York in those seasons. The rest of the stats are the same as Baseball Reference.
It's a pretty minor error in the long run, the card itself reflects the player he was in 1910.

Technically it would be cow poop... Let's not skip attention to detail whist complaining about attention to detail.

For all of you who think I overreacted, please read the discussion (and admission of a similar mistake by DishNet) on the Discord forum. Seems Herman Long is part of a mission for the wrong team!

Mistakes happen in any setting. Constructive feedback helps the situation improve for everyone...in games as in life.
