OOTP does OK on a laptop?

I am looking at an extended time away from home due to a family illness.
Which means I will be away from my OOTP franchise, which I have been playing every night forever, for whom knows how long?
I am guessing I can load it onto a thumb drive and install it on my laptop.
It's not the highest end machine, but it is fairly new and runs great.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

OOTP runs perfectly fine on most machines

I bought a laptop just last week for that very reason. Didn't want to be tied to a desktop after a day working on one and the laptop I can play the game on while sitting comfortably on the sofa with the missus.

I have OOTP25 on my desktop, MacBook Pro and two laptops. You think it is a little over the top

I would be interested in any input on this. I have an older MacBook Pro with 8GB RAM and a 256GB hard drive. Running High SIerra. Really not much of anything loaded on it, as I have a new IMAC that I use. But OOTP24 is incredibly slow - to the point I uninstalled it, as it was useless. However, the laptop easily meets and exceeds the minimum requirements. Any ideas on how to speed it up?

Thinking back, I believe I have primarily played OOTP on a laptop since 2006.

Yes. OOTP actually gives you lots of options to shrink the file size by dispensing with bells, whistles, and data. You might want to play in 2D, to save the drain on your graphics card. Or at least dispense with face gen pictures. If you can, toggle off box scores and graphs and play-by-play for non-human teams, don't keep scouting reports, no archives. Avoid too many widgets on your screen. You could end up playing a bare-bones version of OOTP, but at least it should run faster.

Thank you for making me feel restrained, with my Mac Mini, MacBook Air, and Dell laptop platforms. The Mac desktop is for my "legacy" sims, while the MacBook is the test bed for new ideas. The venerable Dell, five years + of use, still runs sims with no problem. It's my travel platform for the game. To date I have played in Yucatan Mexico, Greece, Argentina, Chile, and St. Martin in the Caribbean.

One of my favorite ways to play is on my laptop as I sit on the couch and watch a baseball game at the same time as I play one!
