Delegating tasks to minor league managers
I am OK with depth charts, pitching staffs, etc. since I can force start the players I want in the areas I want but was wondering about this option:
"Minor League Free Agent Signings and Releases" I want to allow them to do this so I don't have to worry about depth pieces but I was worried about the "Releases" part. I already lock my best prospects but I really want to be the one to make release decisions on all my draft picks. If I allow them to do this, will they release players I have drafted or just the free agents they sign? The sentence is a little confusing as written for that reason. |

You're better off being in control of signings and releases. The AI is liable to release I guy you would have kept. No use risking it.

The AI will release any player it deems not good enough.
If you have minor league limits at any level, age or roster size, you really really want to control this yourself. If you don't have any limits, there's far less risk of losing a decent prospect

Yeah, I wish I could designate a guy "do not release under any circumstances". You can prevent AI promotion/demotion but there's no way to prevent AI release other than handling all releases yourself.

Yeah agreed I just would not trust the AI on releasing players. The AI still mystifies me on how guys are assigned to minor league teams. Why would a 25-year-old guy with AAA experience be on a high A team? He wouldn’t. Ever. But it happens. So I handle that. If you’re a micromanager, it’s awesome. But it’s a time suck.

I just switched the "base minor league" from potential to "current ratings". I think that may solve some of the issues I have had too.
