Can't start a game

I'm in game 30 in the regular season for 2024 and wanted to manage a game. I select the lineups and press Start game and it just locks up.
I have the game installed on my system in Linux and It is installed through steam. I have never had this issue before. It won't let me do anything at that point and I have to hard stop the system.

Not sure what was wrong but after trying several different things I thought I would try to use the Play exhibition game option. That worked and then I went to play the regular game and it worked.

Not solved . It let me play one game and then it does the same thing on the next game.
Playing an exhibition game didn't solve it this time.

I suppose you also tried closing OOTP using Task Manager and re-starting. If not, try; worked the one time this happened to me.

I'm using Steam on LInux so there is no Windows Task Manager.
