Being able to release player with extensions at start of offseason and not get charged for extension
So we have a GM in our online league that noticed he was able to release this player who was on final year of contract but had a large extension signed and not be charged for the extension at all. It seems to only happen during that weird period in offseason between end of World Series and start of free agency before new financial year expense wise starts. You are charged in all other periods. My thought is because there is currently no money on the books for current contract so game doesn't think it needs to charge you for any remaining money from the extension that isn't up yet. But during the season there still is money in current deal so it knows to charge you the extension cost and obviously after FA starts that extension is the current contract and it's obviously to get you need to be charged fully for that upon release.
I really don't know what screenshots to post for this, so I'm going to hold off on that for now. Only thing I can think of is showing the finance edit page section before and after releasing the player in this category, but idk how much that helps you guys. It's really just the file that will help you so here is the link for that:

The player this is concerning is SP - Jonathan Mercier on the Texas Rangers. He is currently on IL. There are others too, but this is the main one the GM brought to my attention. Thanks for looking into this. If you need anything else from me or have any questions for me let me know. Thanks for looking into it.
