80 K, what do I do?

I am sitting in Stone with 80,000 points and only a handful of lower diamonds. Any quality player makes my lineup. Would you open diamond packs, complete missions or buy certain players and if so, who? This is the first year I have not spent 1 point I earned and was hoping to be higher up right now, even silver, but my dailies haven't been good. Looking for all thoughts.

First thing to do is complete the Live Missions, 80K might be enough to finish if you get some good pack pulls and are patient with and not overpay on a bunch of cards.

Starting from scratch, is 80K even enough to complete all the live missions? Last year I got the job done (in June) for less than 20K using buy orders. Right now, Tampa Bay alone looks to cost 20K. It is a good idea, but go slow, be patient, and use buy orders.

BTW, never buy packs. You can get 10+ free packs every day so why buy them?

By all means, get those free Twitch packs, they'll help a ton, especially early on.

Then focus on Live missions. Sort by completion percentage, then finish Level 1 for the team you're closest to finishing. Rip whatever packs you get immediately, because they might well have players that'll help you complete more missions. Work your way down the list, picking up the cheapest players that you don't already have (click that check box to screen out ones you have!), and repeat. With those points, you ought to be able to finish Level 1 (or get darn close). That will provide you with a good bunch of players who will boost your team. Once you have Level 1 done, start working on Level 2. It will go a lot more slowly, because you'll have acquired the cheaper players, but follow the same general strategy.

The price for completing the Live missions should trend down pretty quickly with the first Live update coming tomorrow.

Yes, missions are about to get much cheaper.

Finishing any live missions today is a serious mistake. Numerous cards will suffer drastic rating cuts overnight, and there will also be many cards added due to callups. The cards that lose ratings will hang in for a while, but eventually will become appropriate for their pigmentation.

80K might not even get you all the Level 1 missions today, but it will likely go far beyond that in a few days. And, like Bailey says, never buy at the offered price even if it's much lower than the L10.
