MLB news: June 24 -- Honeyman suspended five games for charging mound in win over Miami
St. Louis Cardinals rookie outfielder Travis Honeyman has been suspended for five games after he charged the mound after being a hit by a pitch by the Marlins Jimmy Cordero in a 10-2 win in Miami on June 24.
Honeyman, 24, who was called to the majors on June 10, has hit .250 with three home runs and 10 RBIs in 18 games/15 starts since joining the Cardinals.
Cordero also was suspended for five games.

Cards news: June 30 -- Hamstring injury will sideline Arenado, Ferreras called up from AAA
The St. Louis Cardinals have placed third baseman Nolan Arenado on the 10-day injured list after he suffered a strained hamstring during a 7-5 win over the Atlanta Braves on June 30.
The 35-year-old Arenado was hitting .229 with seven home runs and 29 RBIs in 70 games/68 starts at the time of the injury.
He is expected to miss up to three weeks.
Getting called up from AAA Memphis is 24-year-old third baseman Pascanel Ferreras.
Acquired from Houston in a trade in Nov. 2024, Ferreras has hit .290 with 20 home runs and 43 RBIs in 72 games/71 starts for the AAA Redbirds.
