Worth the Upgrade?

Just curious as for those that have played both is it worth upgrading from last years version?

In my opinion, OOTP 25 GO is much better than previous versions.
But I think it's up to you. If you are looking for new features or bug fixes than you don't need to upgrade with $10. but if you are looking for better graphics(for me), improved stability, and new 2024 roster then go for it.

About stability, game is still crashed sometimes but not much as GO 24. I played total 8 years already and experienced only 2 or 3 crashes. If I was playing OOTP 24 than I would be experience 2 or 3 crashes in a every year.
Also multi-tasking is looking better. I'm sometimes getting suprised that game is still running in my background even after I watched a YouTube video.
Anyway, think about that more crashes makes more broken saves I'm sure this is big point to someone.
Also I felt every new OOTP GO was always better than before.

The upgrade is for the current season and PT25 only. There are not really any other true upgrades IMO.

I would say the graphics are a good bit better in Go 25. The interim patch obviously went a little haywire but it was fixed last night and seems great now. Also, you do get rosters for this season so the added cost is $5, not $10, and there are a few new features that in my mind are worth the spend. Finally, I would spend the $10 just to support the game and keep it going.

There does have to be a realization here that you can’t turn the world over every single year. If you look at the first Go now, it’s amazing how far we have come. If you compare each year to the last, it doesn’t seem massive. Perspective does help.

Summary, if you are a full-time student supporting yourself waiting tables, stick with Go 24 for another year maybe. If you’re making $500k a year, duh, it’s ten bucks. Buy the app. Everything in between, to personal taste.

Can you use current stadiums in historical leagues like in OOTP 23?

No, not until you reach the year they are active.

That’s disappointing. In Go 23, I could just type in say “Target Field” for the historical Twins and the stadium would be used (the modifiers were still for the Metrodome). Was hoping they’d allow that in 25 again…

It worked until they did an update in Go 24. I reported it as a bug in this version as Markus said it should work and suggested I do so. We will see if anything comes from it. Otherwise you are going to have to wait until 2010 to get Target Field. I took over the Padres at expansion and only get Wrigley, Bush and Dodger in the NL and Yankee and Fenway in the AL
