Running a team starting with the expansion draft
Has anyone tried this in Go? I want to start in 1968 and sim to 69 and take over one of the four teams that join. In Go 23 I was doing a save that got ruined when the Mariners and Blue Jays joined as neither team came close to having a 25 man roster. I think it was the Mariners that only had five pitchers and gave up double digit runs in nearly every game. I remember Dale Berra being used in relief almost every game and stats got extremely inflated to the point I had to abandon the game.
Before I spend time trying to start I was wondering if anyone had a different experience. In Go the starting reserve rosters don't seem to be big enough at the onset to allow the existing teams to protect fewer players and lose more, and besides even if you did the integrity of the league would be thrown out of balance. |

Isn't there an option to fill the vacancies with fictional players? That might be the work around, but I honestly don't remember exactly.

Even better after being mindful of budget and signing a few players, my owner cut my budget. Guess I have my work cut out for me. Now thinking maybe I needed to sim ten years ahead of the expansion instead of one, maybe existing teams would have larger reserve rosters and I could have edited the number of players a team can lose. |
