That's true, I forgot about that feature. But, it begs the question, do I have to buy Go now for each of my devices, ie phone and tablet, or can I use 1 purchase on both?

No. You can put it on multiple devices.

As long as your iPhone/iPad are on the same iTunes account you can have them on both with one purchase like any other app. If you should buy seasons to play franchise mode the same applies with an extra step-if you purchase seasons on your iPhone, when you move to your iPad you simply hit restore in app purchases and they are loaded in at no additional cost.

OOTP Go is a truncated version the pc game and PT happens to be available on it as well. Maybe a mobile franchise mode isn't for everybody. I purchased the season bundle in OOTP 23 and have been able to load that purchase on to the next two versions with no additional cost (unless you wanted the current season which was $5).

They readily admit that they hoped the free app would push new PT users but it didnt so it was either charge something for the app to pay for the development or abandon it. If you used it for just PT I can understand being upset at the new model but it is more than PT.

COM2US, on the other hand, reminds me of those movies where aliens come in and reap all the resources from a planet. Then they leave it in shambles devoid of life.

Completely different now. It's more like the relationship I have with my cable company. They seem mostly concerned about what's the next way they can make a little more money from the game. Especially if you are F2P, they don't give a hoot about you.

No doubt, BUT - keep the term "they" pointed at the right people. Your first paragraph refers to Marcus and the group BEFORE, and the "they" in your second paragraph refer to Com2US AFTER. It's not like Marcus et.al. suddenly became the bad guys. They still are the heart of the game - it's just that they have bosses now.

I don't know that they have "ruined" anything yet.
Can they over time? Certainly, but I can't believe that's their purpose. To make the most money far into the future, they have to keep the game alive.

Look at what we have.

Is the game today "worse" than what we had 5 years ago? No.
Is the game we have today "better" than we had 5 years ago? Yes.

The difference is we pay a bit more for it, but that difference is minimal in the grand scheme of things.

Look, I'm as passionate as the rest of you about seeing this game as far in the future as possible. I'm "eagle-eyed" watching Com2US and everything they change to increase profits - but as long as the game remains fun for me, my concern for them making more money is not a priority.

It's a given if they screw up too bad, the game will suffer and so will profits. That certainly isn't their goal, so I suspect they will throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks. As long as that "stuff" isn't damaging, life is still good.

If they keep throwing stuff against the wall, with some of it sticking, at some point they will reach the modulus of elasticity of said wall.
