If I was going to be critical I would ask why you paid for Flick Home Run
This is actually something we've been trying to get into Go25. It's just been a struggle due to system constraints on the devices, but we're still currently working on this

Also that screenshot was from my phone, and I'm not ashamed to say that Flick Home Run is actually quite fun!

I like that you're working on the game and I'm sure some people enjoy it, but I just want to say that I personally would never buy OOTP Go unless I could continue my PC save on it and just be fully synced between versions. The only appeal of OOTP on iPad would be to continue my save when I can't be on my computer (like on a plane).

Things that missed on the app:

1. 2D. To Markus this is a waste of resources when you have 3D, but love to have a 2D option.
2. Commish mode. I like to add major league ready all stars to my draft. Gives the worst team a better chance.
3. Exhibition series. Replaying a World Series or any two teams in history is a perfect fit for an app.

I get that UI choices can be tough, FM goes with purple since it's the least common club colour, but I need that immersion of on-brand colours.

Otherwise, this is hands down the best sports sim for a chromebook, so thank you very much for filling that niche of "definitely not playing at work"

Isn't that currently possible with the player editor, since you can edit all player detail details? You can't technically add a new player but I believe it should be possible to edit players that were already created as part of a draft class.

For me, I'd like to see the desktop version's Find A Player page added in, as it's really difficult to find certain player types in GO.

You definitely can, it's a little bit annoying to not be able to edit personality or injury ratings, but I like throwing a phenom in now and again.

For faster game play, add a option to delete old history text lines.
You all experienced game keep slower after every season progressed and text_data.dat files #1 reason.

If you delete text_data.dat in game folder, your game play and saving save files much faster like fresh save file.

and this file include all players history data.

But the problem is, if I delete that file, even recent history lines are also deleted so i can't track rating changes or player's transactions log.

can we have option for this?
delete lines after 2 years / 5 years / players who retired etc.

one more, please do not auto-save when minimized game. or just make on/off option for this.

this function has make many saves are broken and unrecoverable. if you played for long days in one save, it means you will need more times to save a file. if user don't know about this and force close the app while saving, then save file has high chance to broken itself. please.
It makes turning back after short multi-tasking waits too long. even it looks like game is freezed. (because game is auto-saving itself.)

and users who don't know about this, they will think game is freezed and force close the app. you know what is the next? save will be broken. yes, It's a disaster

Hello, I don't think my first post went through. Congratulations to you on the release of your new game. I'm a first time player of OOTP and so far it's been a fun experience playing on a Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+ 5G. Just a couple enhancements I'd like to suggest: Please make it possible to save my GENERAL GAME OPTIONS on the STEP 1 - CONTROLS tab. Also, as the Brewers, the game dialog will say the roof is closed at our home stadium, but the camera views during the game show the roof obviously open and clouds in the sky (minor detail). Thank you, have a great day 🍻

Long time fan, just wanted to give a personal perspective that may be shared with others in hope that one day my love of OOTP can be renewed with a different version of the game. I started with OOTP on the desktop back in 2005. Quickly got addicted and when MLB Manager came out it provided the quick fix I needed as I was going throughout my day / waiting at the doctor's office, bored at work, etc.. As I have grown into my 30's with kids I do not have time for desktop games and maybe have 20 - 30 minutes a day where I can play around on the phone. When OOTP Go came out it was fine and I would gladly pay the $5 a year for updated rosters and be able to draft a team and make roster decisions and look at box scores. The in game decisions were fun and contributed to the entertainment of the game. However, recently there seems to be more and more being added to the game that I find unnecessary (I could not even play it for two years because it kept crashing on my old phone). I do not need 3D or fancy graphics. All I want is something simple to hop on for about 10 minutes at a time where I can draft, set lineups, roster manage, make some simple in-game decisions and view box scores trying to win as many championships as possible. I wouldn't mind paying the $5 a year for a version of this game. As it stands, I can't work up the muster to pay $10 for a complex version that this seems to be, especially with the star reviews at 2.5 currently. I wish you the best and will be monitoring the OOTP universe for future endeavors.

My forever suggestion is an exhibition mode. I'd like to fool around with different teams without committing to a 162 game season (and save) every time.

In order to collect the initial feedback & suggestions, I figured it would make sense to have a single thread about this.

But first off, let me say something about the price of the game, which is now $9.99. In the past couple of years, OOTP Go was a free download, but you had to pay $4.99 each for current MLB and KBO rosters. This was an experiment, we wanted to see if we'd convert some new users to avid PT players who'd offset the loss we'd generate by making the game free. Simple conclusion: It did not work, this model makes no economic sense for us, as OOTP is apparently simply too niche. So, we decided to go back to the premium app model. Now, in some threads some users voiced their disappointment about this, sometimes with ridiculous statements like "it sucks having to pay for this" which quite frankly make me pretty angry. Look, for less than 10 bucks you get a game which has 90% of the feature set of the desktop game, which costs five times as much. Plus, you get all the new engine and AI stuff, select other new desktop features and full Perfect Team cross-platform support. If you think "this sucks", then I urge you to take a minute and think this through. Heck, nowadays you don't even get a decent burger for $9.99, as sad as that is.

Another thing, we often get asked for feature additions like commish mode or various advanced league options. But, those are intentionally desktop-only. If we'd include them in the mobile version, we would cannibalize our desktop sales and be out of business in a year. That can't be in your interest. Another option would be to add all desktop-exclusive features to OOTP Go (many modern phones would be able to handle this), and then price the game at $49.99. I don't believe this is in your interest either.

Long story short, I truly believe OOTP Go 25 is a bargain at $9.99. You get the best baseball simulation on the planet, sporting the identical core features and 90% of the expanded feature set of the amazing desktop game.

Still, if you have suggestions on how to improve the game, we'd love to hear them, of course Will and I will do the best we can to improve the game over the coming months. And as always, all the tweaks & improvements of the core engines from the desktop game will carry over to OOTP Go 25.

Thank you all for your support and your patience!

Markus & the OOTP Developments team
There are two issues with this.

One, the yearly changes to the business model have been a ****show. GO was supposed to be a continually updated app, with new seasons being purchased via IAPs. Buying the historical pack made sense. A year later all of a sudden everything changed and there was a new app, and we had to use an extremely clunky export-import process to continue accessing our purchases. And now the base mobile game -- which remember, was supposed to be continually updated as of GO -- requires a $10 purchase in order to access in the first place.

So we've gone from originally being promised an updated app where we can play our historical seasons to a clunky import system in order to play our historical seasons to having to pay $10 every year in order to perform a clunky import and play our historical seasons. It feels like we're being jerked around, and there's been zero acknowledgement of this from OOTP.

Two, support for GO 24 was atrocious. Look at the forum, it's a wasteland of threads without replies.

I made a post about not being able to add money to a trade.

A post about the Hall of Fame

And a post about not being able to continue a game because it was demanding that I make roster changes in the middle of a playoff series when someone's time on IR was up.

You talk about believing that adding commissioner mode would cannibalize your PC sales without acknowledging that comissioner mode is a means to bandaid our way past bugs in the game and GO is full of these unaddressed issues.

Agree 100%. The weird part is, they don't want to add commissioner mode but they force 3d mode on GO to make it like their PC counterpart. I'd understand not having commissioner if everything single other thing wasn't pretty much a clone of the desktop version. As it is now, Go just feels like OOTP 25 Lite and is nothing more than to try and get you to fall in love with the game/Perfect Team to want you to spend the $50 on the PC version.

I'd much prefer GO be it's original vision than what it is currently.

You are right. The most important reason that I bought every OOTP PC and GO is communication between Users and Developers.
I love baseball too but because I quitted to watch baseball since 2015, still playing OOTP about 10+ years has more meaning support and shows my respect to good developers by one of a gamer.

It's kind of a love I think. Anyway I understand they can't follow the forum everyday because they would be busy since they are small team but it's always disappointing that they are gone after only a few weeks after new game released.
I know they keep monitoring forum but they should know also users may think difference as me.
Someone would understand,
Someone would give up quitly, and Someone would get angry.

To devs,
The all I want is share more things even it looks bad. this is more about trust not communication.
Look, most of user suprised by new payment system of GO. I don't think that's because of $10, it's because they were never heard about it.

Bugs forum too.
You may be monitorning and work hard as well to fix it but anyway no replys will give feel like they are ingnored.
If you can't fix it, then please tell us you can't. We don't even want single reason. just do not ignore. if you didn't than make them know that you didn't ignore them.
Saying "We are looking into it", "We will fix at next patch" or "It's hard to fix. Not sure but we will try to fix next year." is not so much hard thing. isn't it?

or pin a thread about the known issues will help. at least, users would know dev working on it.

uhm. Actually I know there are no developers like you guys. actually I want to give you a plus score than average. you are doing very well.
but if you improve more, you will be the best.
just, please remember since communication is one of your big strong point, there are users who buy your game because of only that.

Besides being to add current ballparks in historical. It would be nice to get one message at the end of the season with players from all teams that have chosen to retire instead of only getting a message about players on your team that retired.

Yes, and add a checkbox to either unretire a player who didn't actually retire in real life, or to retire a player who did retiring real life.

How do ratings updates work in MLB 2024 season using live start?

Is there a regular schedule of updates based on current real life stats?

Or is it all handled through those development update messages?

Thanks!

I suggest an option in the quick play tab that records and sends the last play to the development team when we see something weird.
