AI doesn't purchase players in Minor Leagues (Historical Leagues)

Curious,

Does anyone else notice this too? If you start a Historical run from say 1901 till about the 1950s, Well known players like Joe D, Enos Slaughter, Bobby Doerr, Ernie Lombardi, Phil Rizzuto, etc... Don't enter the draft, but enter their historical minor league team instead as it has always been in past OOTP versions. Therefore, for those guys it's usually all about purchasing them from their Minor League team, however, I noticed that the AI doesn't purchase players anymore from a minor league team.

In past versions, the AI always did, but now if you ignore them as a human player, then eventually they will become a free agent to be bid on by anyone in a few years. (human player can still of course purchase anyone from a minor league team not affiliated with a major league squad)

Is this intentional or an un-intended bug? Really only noticeable if you play around this era, since eventually most will enter the draft the closer you get to the modern age, thus this becomes a non-issue.

I'll also report back here when I hit 1947-1950 and if I notice that the AI doesn't purchase any Negro League players once the color barrier breaks.

thanks,

I can confirm that the AI also doesn't purchase Negro league players when the Color Barrier is removed in 1947, so something is definitely up with that for this version. Not sure if that's intended or not.

And yes all teams have the funds to purchase these players.

thanks,

Players not being purchased was a bug that started with 24 and hasn't been corrected yet. You can test it in a modern game by putting a Mike Trout or Acuna on an Indy league team and watch them play the season there with no MLB purchasing them.

Ahh,

I see, I did not play OOTP 24 as I tend to skip every other version or sometimes every other 2 versions before playing again, so that's a shame.. I guess we know it's totally confirmed, hope it's fixed in this version at some point .
