That's kind of a bummer because in other management games I love to bring on young coaches and train them up too. Makes for some fun story lines when they become head coaches and you meet them later. In Football Manager I hired one of my ex players, brought them through the youth coaching ranks and he went on to beat me in like 4 separate elimination tournament games until we finally beat his team in a final.



Just one of those moments that makes playing imaginary sports on a computer all the more "real."

Looked into it and there was a bug that prevented GM´s and Head Coaches to improve their ratings. We fixed it now, so you should see this after the upcoming update.

All other staff (e.g. Scouts and Assistant Coaches) should already improve with experience.
