Player Fatigue re-evaluation needed
Hello. So this problem has been a problem for years, a main reason I only played trials for first few years and left after a few days (less than a week).
So, as an example, I have a SP who gets blown up in the 1st inning and gives up 7 runs. AKA Clayton Kershaw, 2023 NLDS; CK game 6 NLCS 2013, 7R 10H 4 IP. (he's a good example what can I say?) The point is he throws 23 pitches, and he can EASILY throw 123, or could back then anyway. So I have a pitcher, stats irrelevant, only thing that matters is his "94" stamina. In each outing, rather he throws 3.1 IP; 58 pitches, or 7.2 IP; 113 pitches (his high and low in PT 25) he always leaves the game with "4%" energy. That's fine, mostly, its a 5 man rotation. I prefer a 4 man, so I'd like to see energy reflect most recent outing, with 4% being a worst case scenario or something, but I digress. But lets take that to the bullpen. Some outings are long, but some are very short. 1 pitcher had 3 pitches in his 0.1 IP save, and left with a very low energy as well. And those outings where he'd be 100% for the next game but he's not... leads to something like THIS. Which is absolutely out of the question unless I have a 9 pitcher game. This needs an overhaul. I still have 9 more days before my next day off. I'll leave you with the images, and let you decide for yourself. Thank you. ![]() ![]() Also, while I'm proposing an overhaul: Please stop using my Closer in non-closer situations? Thanks for your considerations. These will be a gigantic help to consider. Just one additional backend (invisible) calculation to the algorythm is all I ask; and one additional "If"/"Else" statement. ![]() |

You should consider adjusting the pitcher stamina coefficient on the Stats & AI page.

Open to additional arguments, but on the fatigue, I'm not really sure this is not how it should work on a modern fatigue setting. Modern pitcher fatigue is pretty extreme in reality.
Real life teams pretty much run a MLB to AAA conveyer belt to rotate through like 15 guys in the bullpen to keep fresh arms available. If we relaxed this too much on the modern setting I think we'd likely get too many guys throwing too many innings. If you prefer something a little less extreme, you can always adjust the fatigue settings down a little.
