Starting a game the day after the WS ...

I would like to expand the league by 6 teams ... is there a way to start a game in early November of 23 with current rosters or do I have to start a new game and sim it for a season?

I've never tried going back into the previous calendar year... but I know in the past if you create a small fictional league that begins play in early January, the game will start around January 1st.

Start a live start game in the previous version on the last day of the season, Sim through the playoffs (maybe restart until you get the right WS champion), then import the save to the new version.

You may be able to get a similar result by starting a 2023 historical game with historical transactions on. Either way there will have to be some editing work to get your league to look right.

Or, the simplest way: play out a year as your favorite team, then expand next year.

omg that is clever. I am putting that in my bag of tricks.

edit: yeah, that was pretty good. Went into advanced settings, added a rookie league and set the start date for that league to Jan. 3. Started the game and immediately deleted the league. The sim started in Jan. 7th which is early enough for me to trigger Spring Training (which is currently not allowed in the starting season if you have minors).

I figured this out in order to create a NCAA feeder s8jce their season begins in late Feb haha
