Notes on Tournaments and the Roster Builder

We are still finalizing some items with the tournament roster builder, so unfortunately it will not be active during the first beta build. We anticipate it will be ready either tomorrow or Thursday, in time before the official launch on Friday.

We will have some more detailed descriptions of how to use it to fully maximize your experience when we enable it. But note that for now, you will need to manually set your roster for each tournament you enter - the "last saved roster" for the tournament type will not be pulled in automatically when you enter a new tournament of the same type.

For now, we would recommend the best way to save a roster is after having set it up for a tournament, on the right hand side there is an Import/Export menu, where you can save your roster locally. Then when you enter another tournament, you can use the same menu to load the saved roster.

Once the roster builder is up online certainly the process will be smoother for assigning and updating rosters. And we will certainly welcome any and all feedback to continue to improve the process.

Will this ever be put in or is it gone in favor of the roster builder?

I am putting rosters in roster builder, however the menu next to set rosters doesn't populate

The menu will only show rosters that are uploaded to the server. So if you are saving rosters, if you upload them that's the best way to assign them to a tournament.

We'll certainly look at future updates as we get more feedback as to what features people want more.

Figured it out. So the roster appears in the drop down from traditional tournament screen but doesn't actually populate. I have to go into the tournament home page and export it from there.

It should be populating, yes we will look into that. But if the stored roster is assigned, you don't need to log in to the tournament, only if you want to make a change locally in the tournament that you do not want in the global stored roster.

It is weird. I selected the roster from thee drop down then left it alone until the tournament filled, clicked play now, and it did indeed populate. However if I went in and selected set rosters nothing was there. If that makes sense.
