Error Message - This Game Could Not Be Initialized

Hi All- I had no problems downloading or installing everything. Set up everything for my new season without issue either but when I go to play the first game of the season, I receive the error message 'This Game Could Not Be Initialized.' I've reinstalled the game twice now but still receive the error message. This is the first time I've had an issue like this in 5+ years of playing. TIA for any tips or assistance

This happens when the 3d is not working. The first step to take here is to update your video card drivers (or your Mac OS on Mac). Most of the time, that should fix things.

Thanks for the fast response Lukas. I updated my video driver (Windows) and it looks like I have the current version. I'm still receiving the error message though even after restarting my system.

I added 'New Game 3. zip' to the Support Server for further analysis as I'm still having issues with the error message 'This Game Could Not Be Utilized' TIA for the assist

I will try to get back with you more tomorrow, have been working almost 14 hours today (after plenty of just as long days during the last weeks too), and my brain is getting fried.

For now though, more than the save, the most helpful thing for us would be the trace file to check through.

I got that message as well but it only affected my team. Once I reduced my opening day roster to 26 it was all good.

Thanks for mentioning that! Usually this is a graphics related issue, but maybe we use the error message for multiple things. So this would definitely be something for the original poster to check out too.

A better error message here (incorrect roster) would help. This also tripped me up!

I got the error message, too. I'm on a Mac running os12. I started a real world game as Dodgers GM/M, and first game of the year it wouldn't let me play. Regardless if I select play game under the play menu or go to the score window and select manage game I'd get the game cannot be initialized message . Also wouldn't let me autoplay the first day either. autoplay all games result in nothing happening. Which leads me to believe this isn't a graphics issue

Yeah, it's most likely actually an invalid roster issue.

Never mind. The problem was on my end. I didn't cut back to 26 on my rosters.
