I am not good/Logo Request
OK you all know I am a hack. I think I am the most active member in this forum but I am a cut and paste guy with a cheap graphics program no one has ever heard of ($9.95 at a used book store). I love to play with my cheap program and help others at the same time. It is alot of fun. Having said all this I once again would like to enlist the help of the more talented. I have won my first Championship in my first full season in an online league. I am the proud owner of the Detroit Diesels of the USBBL. My logo is my first ever attempt at a logo. I was thinking of an upgrade. To give you some background, Detroit Diesel is a Fire Truck engine manufacturer. They are VERY BIG and VERY POWERFUL diesel engine. So please feel free to use your own judgement. Thanks.

I'm searching my clipart collection for a good powerful image of a firetruck. I'll work something up by tomorrow.

Sorry, scotto...you are not a hack.
You do very fine logos...no matter what you use to do them. You are always very creative in your designs. The only area I differ with you is in lettering style...you seem to mix two colors...IMHO it is better to use a single color for the lettering and trim it with a second...and not mix the two...or just use a single solid color. This give better contrast and makes the lettering show up better. Occasionally, I see a fine logo design that has poor color contrast, not just yours, but other designers as well. The Renegades logo you resized recently was a great logo...great colors...but it was difficult to read half of the lettering because it blended in the background, rather than stand out. If the RED lettering has been trimmed in WHITE, it would have stood out better and been easier to read. Please don't be offended by my observations...it just my opinion. You do very good work. Keep it up. |
