Retention Slots

Does anybody know where you can see how many salary retention slots you have available and which contracts they are being used on?

I know under cap obligations I can see an amount for total buyouts/retained salary but I'd like to know specifically the breakdown of that, mainly for trading purposes because if I have some buyouts and some retentions (inherited from real life sometimes) it'd be nice to know how many retention slots I have available and for how long the ones currently being used are being used for.

As far as I’m aware there are unlimited retention slots available in the game.

I have a custom game, and they do not seem to work. I try to use them in trades, but when I click the pull down in the trade screen, nothing is available.

Why?

FHM10. I don't know what you mean by a real life NHL situation. In real life teams have three retention slots. They can only be retaining money on a maximum of three contracts at any given time. I was assuming the game models this (I thought sometimes I'd had it not allow me to retain and thought that was why) but perhaps it doesn't and I'm worried for no reason. I just wanted to know which contracts I'm currently retaining on and can't find a screen anywhere that shows that.
