I actually think it is more pre-MLB license and post-MLB license.

The road to release changed when they got that license as they have to send any screenshots through MLB for approval.

8 days out from release and we don't really know much. That's incredibly concerning.

If you are waiting on a long list of *new* features for a yearly game that has been produced for the past 25 years, I don't know what to tell you. This isn't a console game.

To me, the game is worth buying every year. I say that knowing the game gets one or two key new features/updates every cycle along with several smaller, less obvious tweaks. But the new features/updates improve the overall quality of the product. This year, the Dev Lab and the Player Ratings Updates/Overhaul are significant changes/additions. Anything added to those will be the cherry on top.

As if there’s a difference. It’s no different than NbA 2k, Madden or The Show. Each and everyone is an yearly released sports game. Not to mention the price increase this year, you’d think you’d want as much info out there as possible this year.

Occam’s razor. There is no mystery here. If you had promotional content to show that was both prima facie intriguing and robust enough to withstand even basic scrutiny you would a) be eager to communicate it in as direct and clear manner as possible and b) do so through a platform that allowed at least some real-time interaction (meaning with the creators, not the as-yet-unreleased product). Neither is the case here.

I think that was a thing the guys who work on the engine have been putting a lot of time and resources into doing and it should also have the effect of improving play for modern and fictional games as well.
This is incredibly exciting and a great achievement, they should be proud of that and show it off! Write a quick thread, do a video, etc.

Every year they do substantial small changes. Like for example, it's been leaked that there's a new "trade history" screen that tracks how trades go after you make them, which fulfills one of my greatest dreams for this game. But there's not a list of these small things yet published anywhere. that's what I was talking about. Now I learned it comes during public beta.

Not sure if this matters but on the latest twitch stream March 6th The game is coming out a week earlier than normal. There is a new streaming feature, makes it easier to jump into the game. HOF will start out as exhibits we can view. Plus some more stuff.

While I may not *like* the marketing strategy, the dev team has always been very active and responsive, and I don't think I've ever really felt underwhelmed or disappointed by an ootp release, so they have earned my benefit of the doubt.

We'll find out in less than a week

i am confident there will be no new stats or reporting capabilities for what was once a stat based game.

BOOOOOOOOOOM Coming SOOOON
an hour long video (more if you don't have ad blocker)

I can scan a list in 5 mins, if that.
But there are so many features we can't tell you (AND MORE)

I never found it difficult to develop players in any of the previous versions, but I do think its cool the new Player Development Lab aspect. Should be a neat new feature.

There was a % of prospects that didn't end of living up to their potential, but I always had a monster farm system with 25+ players in the top 100 prospect list. If one 5 of those didn't blossom, I had 20 others to play with, or trade to get better prospects/MLB players.
