Is this a glitch?

I'm in the year 2082 simming through a Reds franchise. The owner is an economizer and also likes to interfere by signing middle relievers to random 1 year, 62 million contract extensions which is annoying. But what has happened twice is that after having a more than 900 million dollar budget, the owner over an off season has dropped the overall budget for my team to -1 billion plus! For example, the current budget for my team for the upcoming season is $-1,006,483, 648. Since my current payroll is $793,277500 (because the previous year's budget was over $800 million), my total money available is $-1,961,753,036!

This is the second time in the last 5-6 seasons this has happened. I understand that part of the game is that an owner can drop a budget unexpectantly and leave you in a tough spot, but I have been playing this game for 10 years and have never seen anything like this. This would never happen in real life. The league would make the owner sell the team before they allowed that to happen. Unless you're the government, you can't operate at a billion dollar deficit in your budget. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced something like this because it is literally ruining a franchise.

This is a known problem using the inflation setting and having budgets go over 1 billion.

Thank you. I missed this. I’m guessing there is nothing to do but start over?
