yeah I think losing the other leagues was more about playing it safe after whatever action the rising sun league took

SI and Sega were able ot negotiate a license. But FM has never held a EPL license, but every team includes that league and team. And the EPL can be very litigious. Of course, the game does not use the real league name or logos. But it does use team names and real players. FHM uses leagues it has no license for. That is what I meant by being overly cautious. None of us will ever know what happened behind the scenes. But it was a blow to the game for sure.

Japan has its own version of the PBA, soI wonder if that's maybe an end-around that OOTP is working on.

Comparing it to what Market? Besides FM, what other simulation sports games are $50? And FM has been available on Game Pass for 3 years straight.

I don't care much about the price increase. It's one of only two games I buy each year. And the preorder discount makes up for it this year.

You're not sorry. OOTP is legally prohibited from including the Japanese leagues in the game. There is absolutely zero they can do about it, but you knew that already. I get that pretending to be outraged gives you endorphins but it's a bad look Last edited by uruguru; 02-17-2024 at 01:26 PM. |

Considering they’d be buying them to please six guys on an antiquated Internet forum I’m sure the ROI wouldn’t be all that high.

As things stand for OOTP to get that league back in the game they would have to negotiate with both Konami and the league

Markus is doing his best I'm sure. Meanwhile I suggest you learn to live without it. It is what it is. |

Might I add, it took years of efforts to get that done. And that was with SI being a subsidiary of a notable Japanese company.

Which part, the six guys or the antiquated forum? I admit… it might be 8 guys. But even if it’s 100 guys I doubt it’s worth the money to properly license those leagues.

I doubt it’s worth the money to properly license those leagues. If you don't do it the right way, then what's the point in doing it at all?

For a long time, FM could not include the Japanese national team for this reason (but you could easily get around it with mods) There was also a time that they could not include the German and Netherlands national teams. They eventually licensed the Dutch national team, but still have yet to make deals with the German and Japanese national teams. Despite having their domestic leagues in the game, so go figure.
