Shots on Goal

I'm dead last in the league for SOG, despite having the shooting frequency slider cranked all the way up. How do I get my guys to shot more?

Are you increasing the player instruction sliders for shooting on individual players too?

Do you have some screenshots of the difference in total across the league - also maybe some examples from box scores about how many shots your top shot takers are making in a game - just to see how different it is.

Also, I'm assuming you're simming your games AND the rest of the leagues games all in the same engine? Sometimes there can be statistical discrepancies if not, though that's usually in takeaways/giveaways.

Apparently offense/scoring has been running high in the 2D engine so far this game cycle, so this is an interesting scenario.

This needs to be a default setting because iirc the two settings are contrasting when you create a new game. Very confusing for new players.

No, because unless you enable a particular player to activly use a particular slider, they automaticly default to whatever the team slider is set too.

Did some testing a while ago with tactical tendencies sliders in FHM8 or 9 in custom games simulating same season multiple times with injuries off/same lines and if i remember correctly shooting/passing sliders made little to none difference in teams totals shots/game. In fact with shooting slider to max they made less total shots vs sliders set on low. I suggest you try it since simming in Custom games is ultra fast.

How bad is your team? Because thats pretty impressive to be dead last in sog lol. I have never managed to do that even with Coyotes/Hawks.

Totally, that was my take. That's why I would be interested to see just how bad the totals are in comparison to the league/player totals from box scores etc because I've had some truly awful teams too

It's a custom league with a imported historical league (94-95)
My top line is LaFontaine, Selanne and LeClaire, no slouches, with Diduck and Numinen on D. You would think a line like that wouldn't shy away from teh net so much.

How is your team harmony? Are your tactics set in such a way that generates a lot of shots or are they more defensive?
