Question about team control settings

This question is specifically for tournaments. I have played PT for a few years now. I love it but I am a more "set it and forget it" guy with tournaments. I just don't have the time to set every little thing.

So my question is this. I have some dailys I play in every day (unless I get too drunk to enter). Such as daily live, daily diamond, etc...

Under team control settings if I select myself to set lineups and depth charts will the AI sub guys out who are tired?

My issue is my teams usually can make it through the first 2 rounds, but they are so tired I get whipped third round. I enjoy the replays when I am bored and I see other teams are fresher. This is obviously worse if I go to a game 7.

Is there anything I can do other than manually adjust the lineup in real time between games?

Under Global Strategy you can set the fatigue settings.

It is also recommended not to use any starter as a backup elsewhere and have no backup covering three positions.

"have no backup covering three positions" as the ONLY backup.

It's fine to have a backup who covers every position even (i.e. C Harry Ford for me in some tourneys) as long as they are not the sole backup for three+ positions. So he's my TOP backup, but I have other backups behind him in the depth chart for most positions as well.

This way, if Ford were subbing in at 3rd base, but my SS is also tired, the backup behind Ford will sub in for him.
