Top Player development Coaches at what level?
Looks like my best coaches are at the MLB and AAA levels. Should I have them in my lower minor league teams to help prospects along? Looks like the pool of coaches is at best a rating of "decent" in the lower minors (AA HA SA R).
Has anyone tried to load a minor league team with the best coaches and top prospects, like AA and see how much better and quicker they increase their ratings? |

Short answer is absolutely. Good coaches is essential at all levels. But that's easier said than done. Many of the better coaches simply want to coach at a higher level and will not accept jobs at lower levels

I try to put the best coaches at all levels; however, as jpeteres1734 alluded to, that's easier said than done. I typically try to be the absolute best coaches at whatever level I have my best prospects playing until I call them up to the highest level. So for a realistic MLB save, I put my best coaches in AA and tend to overpay for them to be there.

Agree with the others here. If you spend some time going through the exercise it is possible to find older, more experienced coaches who will accept a job at the minor league level.
Personally, this is one area I wish the Dev team would give us a tool so we can quickly go through and determine who has interest in a position and who doesn't. As it is the game makes it a real slog to hire a good coach as you only know once you extend an offer I they will say, "I am not interested in coaching for (Team X)." Still, I do find it satisfying when I do find a gem that others have passed up or an older guy willing to teach young players, so it isn't all bad.

When you choose the role you are searching for (it has to be an open position) doesn’t it just list the coaches who are interested?

When you have a vacancy - yes, it can show those who are interested, but if you don't have a vacancy on your team and all you are doing is just a window or compulsive shopping - no, it will show all available, as far as I know. I might be wrong.
