Fictional League - The GUBA is recruiting

Hi there. The GUBA is looking for a dedicated individual to join our community as the owner of the Seoul Crushers. The Crushers are a talented team with a terrible logo who are two years removed from back-to-back pennants in their league, including a world championship four seasons ago. With a little TLC, this team could once again be one of the better teams in baseball.

A little bit about us:

- Most recruiting posts describe their league as 'long running', but we take that to a new level. Many of our owners have been playing OOTP together for more than 20 years. Most of us have met at least one other league member in person.

- The GUBA is a fictional league currently using OOTP24. We plan to upgrade to OOTP25 later in this real life calendar year. We are currently in our 3.0 era, where we just passed the tread deadline in our 18th season since our most recent reboot. The 2.0 era ran for 66 seasons.

- We have 24 teams, with 8 teams qualifying for the playoffs each season (four division champions & two wild cards from each league).

- Our settings are meant to mimic output from the modern era, using the 2006 season as a base.

- We have an incredibly active Slack and A LOT of inside jokes

- We sim 5 days a week, seven days at a time, with no sims on Friday and Saturday.

- We encourage writing on the forum, and doing so can earn you rewards. We've seen a recent explosion of writing on our forum, as the addition of three new to our community owners has breathed some new life into the league.

I have personally been in the GUBA for a total of 16 years or so. I left for several years at one point, only to return and find that the GUBA was still at it and that many of my old friends were still owners. This is a great, stable league full of good people. We almost never miss a sim provided that the commissioner doesn't accidentally burn down his garage.

This is one of the great leagues in the OOTP universe. We may not have been as visible as others over the years, but our lack of turnover and the welcome returns of former owners - like Draven above - allowed us to always replace from within.

I won't lie: it's daunting to join a league with this kind of history and shared experience. I felt that way in 2004 due to the already-established core of owners. The effort was worth it. After 19 years, the GUBA is still my place to escape from the world.

Now, if you'll excuse me, our second ST sim is this morning, and I need to find a CF. Some things never change.

Hello, I have been playing OOTP for a few years now and am just now looking into joining an online league. This one sounds very interesting and I'm from the Philly area so I could definitely be interested in taking on the Philadelphia Grit. I would need a primer in how to play OOTP online but if y'all down to give me a quick tutorial I could be very interested in joining this league.

Bump. Over the past few seasons, we have integrated some much needed fresh blood into the league, with new owners taking over in Red Deer, Philadelphia, and New Orleans. Unfortunately our Red Deer owner had to step back from the league, so the GUBA is once again on the hunt for an owner to join our fake internet baseball collective. Come for the excellent OOTP, stay for the awful political takes and the never-ending football talk. Swing by the forum and post an application if this sounds interesting to you.

I joined up back in Feb, extremely happy with my decision. Active owners, good pace of play, and a lot of league infrastructure make this an easy one to join.

I joined this league earlier in the year, and can say after being in other leagues and playing for over 15 years myself, this is the best league I've ever been in.. anybody that sees themselves as a top tier GM should try this league out.. because it's filled with some of the best in the game.
