FHM10 Blurry Text on Mac

I just purchased FHM10 for Mac, and I would like to report that the Font is nowhere near as sharp or clean as OOTP24. I realize its a different font, but it is like I'm looking at it through dirty glasses by comparison. When coming from OOTP it is like watching 4K HD TV all day and then going to standard definition 1080p.

In discord, it appears that anyone running on a Mac shares the same issue.

I have attached an overlay of OOTP24 and FHM10 so you can see the difference in the sharpness and clarity of the text.

I just set up a direct comparison mode running on the exact same screen and computer. I created a VM (Virtual Machine) on my Mac running windows and set the resolution to exactly the same 1920x1200. So the environment is identical. You can clearly see that the Windows version of FHM is much clearer than the Mac Version. I can run a Windows emulator on my Mac and get better graphics results (which should never happen).

We'll check it out; offhand, I can't think of anything we've done that this year would've made the game visibly different on the Mac, when every previous version was the same. We did change the font, but I can't find any reports of other applications using Georama that are having display issues in their Mac versions, so I doubt that's it.

I am playing the FastSpring version on my 2020 MacBook Pro M1 and I am not experiencing this issue, for its worth

FWIW I've been seeing that all along too on my Mac.

I had just been writing it off as "well I don't love this choice of font but it is what it is".

Looks like this doesn't seem to be consistent on all Macs, it appears fine when Sebastian checks it on his and other people have said the same. So we're going to need to collect a little more information to try to figure out if there's some common factor:

If you're getting this problem, please go to Settings on the start screen, then Troubleshooting, and turn on the "Enable Debug Trace" checkbox. Then restart the game, go back to that screen, and click "Open Trace File." That'll open a file named fhm_trace.txt; send me a copy of that file either via PM on these forums or to my email at jeff@ootpdevelopments.com. Addiitonally, let me know what kind of monitor you're using.

I just purchased this game on Steam and am also experiencing blurry/bold text on my Mac M2 despite playing withe resolution settings. It's really bad... cannot look at the game for more than 10 minutes without really bad eye strain. Just emailed a copy of the trace file to Jeff.

Btw it's not just the text thats blurry. It's the whole game thats fuzzy incl. logos and player pictures/facegens.

This on a MacBook Pro 16 M1 Pro.

EDIT: Steam version of the game.

Was also like this in FHM9. FHM just does not scale with Retina Displays, at least with macOS scaling.

Has there been any resolution to this? I just purchased FHM10 and the blurriness makes the game unplayable, IMO. I'm on a Mac Air M2 and there's no issue with OOTP25. I have the default 1470x956 chosen.

If you've not already done so, I'd say it's worth submitting your tracefile as detailed above

Just installed the game on a new macbook and I'm getting the blurry screen issue. Was a fix ever found?
