Clearing a Contract Extension Offer

When I make a contract extension offer to one of my own players in July to explore their requests, it sits there all year and never clears. Is there a way to later remove the unaccepted offer without upsetting the player?

I wish you could just see the players demand from the FA screen, this is my number 1 QOL request. The contract negotiation situation is a nightmare in SP and even worse in MP because you can't even talk to the player without risking pissing them off, as you're experiencing now. I've not found a way of circumnavigating it, seems inevitable unless you 'save scum'.

I really hope a simple clear button is introduced at some point, I became used to saving my game before offering numerous contracts to players and just reloading without saving.
