New online league will start up on FHM10. Current rosters.

Right now there are only 8 GMs that have claimed a team, which means that 24 teams are still available!

This interests me but I have no idea what I would be signing up for. What all does an online league entail?

Thanks

You basically replace the AI with humans.

I get that, but how does it work for everyone to do it all at once?

I guess I'm looking for more of an understanding of time commitment.

Forgive my ignorance, just never bothered to figure this part of the game out before.

I'm not in this league but on a more general note:

Online leagues will have their own sim schedule for when the commish progresses the file.

In FHM, you would import the latest stage file via the settings menu, that would bring you to the current stage, you'd then make your changes/do whatever you need to and then export your file via the built in FTP export function in the game.

The commish then imports all of the exported files for each GM and runs the file to progress to the next time, usually 7 days, sometimes more, sometimes less but that's the crux of it.

Things like drafts etc are more complicated because there's no assistant tool like Stats+ for OOTP - so that will be subject to how each league handles it.

Hope that clears some things up.

It does, thank you! Everyone plays a little different and I love seeing what games like this one are capable of. Might jump into one of these leagues one day, but its a bit different than the way I play right now.

Yep, it's worth experiencing at some point - I've found the drawbacks are obviously you can't cover multiple seasons as quickly as you'd like to in single player but the positives are that having a full league of human GM's goes a ways to mitigating the strange roster decisions usually made by the AI when it comes to waivers and draft choices etc.

Yeah. Tomkmb describes it pretty well.

I don't like to play this game vs the AI, so I only play in online leagues. Negotiating trades with the AI is not the same as negotiating trades with humans.

There could potentially be one opening in the league on monday. Don't know yet which team that eventually will get open, but there is a GM that I haven't heard from, and other GMs wants to switch to that team.

Carolina getting open is a possibility.

Simulation starts on tuesday.

How many sims per week?
How many in game days simulated at once?
Is there some way to view rosters other than from a game (some html site?)

They sim a week per sim. Break at every 1rst of month to adjust financial and send scout to tournaments. We just finished pre season so last chance to take a team before being in the middle of the season.

Florida, New Jersey, Ottawa, Pittsburg, St Louis, Tamba Bay, Washington still available
