Assign jersey numbers?

Historical sim and the option to assign jersey numbers is greyed out. I'm in commissioner mode and I am selected in Manager options to be in charge of managing jersey. numbers.

Any clues?

If you're in commissioner mode, it should be there. You're looking at the "Change Jersey Number" option on the player right-click menu, correct?

well, now that works... weird...

New one... trying to assign a non-retired number to a player, but that number doesn't show up on the list of assignable numbers, and no current player is listed with it...

I saw a similar post that resolved the issue by taking the number away from a minor leaguer, but my minors are empty.

did you look at the protected list tab of the NHL team? there may be prospects assigned numbers, if you see the number there, change the # of the prospect to something else

SOLVED... an injured player who didn't show on the active roster was assigned the number.
