mod newbie

I'm getting into creating some of my own universes and being stymied by something simple. I managed to load a bunch of historical free agents from the database and exported this draft list for use in another league. When I attempt to import this (or any other draft list csv) in a new file, I get the "IMPORT COMPLETE!" popup as if there are no errors, but none of the players are actually added to the league.

What is the simple step that I'm missing? Is this something that has to be done within a certain timing of the league schedule or is something else misfiring?

Are they anywhere in the game. That is, are you looking for them in the Free Agent list but they are instead draft-eligible for whenever the next draft will come? If you type their name in the search bar, to they come up somewhere?

the players were never created in that other league you tried to import them to... so it referenced player ids that didn't exist or didn't match. this is a unique id in the database. you can't transfwer players from one league to another this way. it is a forced incremental value by the database. it's on rails.

you can edit the player file and copy over some existing free agents with the name and ratings of these players, but don't touch the player id or any other "keys'. just copy and paste from your exported file.

a draft list doesn't create players. you can only use that draft list in the league you created it. the above is a workaround to move those players around. you'd be re-using existing primary keys of other players that existed.. so make sure they are insignifitcant players... can eve just mass-create 100 or 1000 players. they should be at bottom of exported players in free agent section, i believe.

EDIT: in this case i'd make another draft list in the target league, then cop over that -- make them the same number. doing it this way means you won't be copying over any existing players. AGain, don't include the player id field when copying it over to the target file. i don't believe there are any subkeys to worry about. you want to re-use the created playerIDs from that ootp-created list.
