appoint captain if not running the team?

is there a way to appoint the correct team captain/asst captain if you aren't the team coach/GM, but if you have commissioner mode enabled?

You could edit the players 'Leadership' and 'Determination' attributes.
Increasing those should make it more likely they are chosen as Captain.
