Sosa a Yankee?
I couldn’t sleep the other night and was watching some mlb network documentaries. They have a bunch of baseball season recaps and watched one from the year 2000. Somehow stumbled across the Yankees got pretty close to acquiring Sammy Sosa in 2000. Now I don’t really like replaying seasons of teams who were pretty dominant in their era but adding Sosa to that 2000 team would be fun to see the numbers that lineup would have put up. I was surprised to learn the Yankees only had 87 wins in 2000. I remember those teams as a kid being so dominant.
I’m guessing he would have played LF/DH? Can’t see the Yankees displacing O’Neill. Question now is what does everyone think the lineup would look like? Here’s what I think Torre would have done. Knoblauch Jeter O’Neill Williams Sosa Martinez Posada Sojo remember knoblauch couldn’t throw Brosuis The fun part of the replay might be the seasons after 2000. Sosa had a monster 2001 and even in 2003 had 40 hr when the cubs should have played in the WS that year. Anyway anyone have any fun stories about what if replays on a trade that was going to happen but didn’t happen. |

Yeah but what if your sim found a way to banish players who juiced, or was able to prevent it? Sosa, like Bonds, was very good, but not 66 HR good. Of course, if no one could access PED’s, results would be different across the league.

What if, fans were smart enough to know anything about peds that they wouldn’t comment on things they were ignorant to?
